Useful Networks is focused on developing technology and applications that allow content providers to location enable mobile content in a cross-carrier environment. Useful Network's technology allows social networks, local search companies, mobile advertisers, and mobile gaming companies to add location-based elements to their services while keeping user location data secure and protected in accordance with wireless carrier policies.
Useful Networks was founded in 2006 by seasoned mobile content and location entrepreneurs: Brian Levin and David Hose. Before Useful Networks, Brian Levin started a company called Mobliss, and built the text voting system for American Idol, the first cross-carrier SMS aggregation platform. David Hose, prior to forming Useful Networks, worked at SignalSoft (now OpenWave) developing the location infrastructure for T-Mobile and Sprint.
