Universal Label Technologies Announces Addition of High Speed Ink Jet Capabilities

New Capabilities will lead the way to increased, high volume variable image label sales for strategic partners

Attleboro Falls, MA, June 16, 2008: Universal Label Technologies, a leader in the manufacturing of printed and blank custom label products, has announced the addition of a new Jetrion 3025 UV Ink Jet System. This system provides substrate versatility, image quality and reliability to print large volumes of addresses, barcodes, sequential numbers, expiration dates, variable logos/bitmaps and other variable data on unique materials. It leads the market with the best combination of high speed, excellent image quality and substrate compatibility.

Universal Label Technologies chose the cutting edge Jetrion system because it offers flexible printing options. The Jetrion 3025 Inkjet System prints at speeds of up to 400 feet per minute giving press speed for short run and long run variable image printing. Also, four printheads can be stitched together for a print width of up to 9.6", enabling printing across the entire web. It does all this while still offering resolutions of up to 316 x 526 dpi to give labels outstanding print quality.

Barry Alves, President of Universal Label Technologies, said the company chose the Jetrion system over other ink jet systems, because the system works with high-performance UV inks. "This allows us to digitally print black in parallel with other flexo-printed colors and eliminate the need for black plate changes, plate design and make-ready time." Said Alves. "These fast cure UV inks also eliminate the need to over varnish or laminate, saving time and money, while still maintaining durability."

With this new system, Universal Label Technologies label partners will be able to provide their customers with the highest quality, most cost effective, variable imaged labels available on the market.
