Universal Electric Corporation Earns International Standardization Organization 9001:2008 Certification for Quality Operations

CANONSBURG, PA –Â Universal Electric (UEC), a recognized leader in customizable power distribution systems, has furthered its commitment to quality by earning International Standardization Organization (ISO) 9001:2008 certification. Awarded to companies that demonstrate a commitment to quality operations, the certification recognizes that UEC has developed a well-defined and documented procedure to continually improve its consistency of output.
The lengthy process began more than six months ago when the company was first tasked with reviewing all current policies, procedures and work instructions, to ensure each aligned with the requirements of the standard. From there, the company executed internal audits and worked with the ISO registrar and conducted a preliminary pre-assessment in December where certain opportunities for improvement were noted. Once corrections had been made, an official certification audit was conducted in which no major or minor issues were identified.
