UNISIG Highlighting Deep Hole Drilling at CMTS 2015
MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — UNISIG will be exhibiting at the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show, which is being held at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario from September 28 – October 1. Located in booth #2806, UNISIG will be showcasing its broad and comprehensive line of deep hole drilling solutions and consulting with attendees on how best to incorporate deep hole drilling into their operations.
UNISIG specializes in developing comprehensive solutions for any deep hole drilling application. The company’s broad product portfolio addresses applications for any industry segment and is complemented by UNISIG’s approach of offering machinery, tooling and automation as a full turnkey solution.
“Our customers come from every area of industry and range from specialty shops that have focused exclusively on deep hole drilling to those who are just beginning to receive enough work to justify investing in a dedicated machine,” says Anthony Fettig, CEO. “We work with every customer to ensure they have the right technology for their needs and help them implement it into their production.”
UNISIG’s USC-M series of 7-axis deep hole drilling and machining centers is ideal for mold production, allowing manufacturers to process large and small parts with foursided machining capability in a single setup. The USC-M series machines utilize two independent spindles: one for gundrilling and BTA drilling and a second CAT 50 machining spindle. When this additional capability is combined with a rotatory workpiece table and programmable headstock inclination, accurate deep hole drilling and all standard high-performance machining capabilities are available within the working envelope of the system.
The seven axes of control on the M-Series machines utilize the B, A, X, Y and Z axes, providing 3 plus 2 machining to make deep hole drilling and machining of compound angles faster and easier, and improves productivity and throughput by reducing setups and eliminating changeovers. In fact, using a deep hole drilling headstock capable of high-performance BTA drilling is five-to-seven-times faster than traditional gundrilling.
The UNE Series of machines offers a strong value proposition for job shops that are incorporating gundrilling into their operations. With high-precision, preloaded ballscrew feed and digital servo drive with absolute encoders, the machines provide exceptional accuracy. The UNE Series incorporates a modular design and is available with a wide range of spindle configurations and automation option, allowing it to be easily customized to a manufacturer’s unique applications.
All UNISIG machines are engineered and manufactured in the United States with highperformance components. Upon machine installation, UNISIG provides its customers with comprehensive training that involves machine operation and process optimization, as well as attentive post-installation service and extended training.
