Unilux Brings More Powerful Strobe Light Family to Info*Flex 2007

SADDLE BROOK, NJ April 30, 2007 - Unilux, the world's leading designer and manufacturer of stroboscopic surface inspection systems, will bring a brighter display of lighting power to the flexographic printing and in-line converting industries at Info*Flex 2007, May 6-7 at the Palais des congres de Montreal. Unilux will demonstrate its new Lith-O-Light (LOL) Style IV family and Tracker spot-pattern handheld light in Booth 1017. Unilux lights enable press operators and inspectors to spot defects at full production speeds.

"The Style IV family and Tracker are both responses to specific solutions requested by our flexographic customers," said Mike Simonis, president, Unilux. "Our Style IV series combines the features of six flash rate and control configurations into a single unit and doubles the lights' output. In addition, all of our LOL-20 and LOL-40 lights are now remote control capable. As a result, printers and converters can move the lights among multiple lines in their plants without any restrictions to meet their daily production needs."

The Tracker, a spot-pattern sibling of the highly effective LOL-5 linear light unit, Simonis points out, gives printers and converters new troubleshooting and machine maintenance capabilities.

"The Tracker's spot pattern outshines every other spot strobe in the world to help press operators and inspectors zero-in on specific causes of defects," he said. "The brighter light makes it easier to see defects, and the rugged design means no more taping heads together after they break from dropping the lights. Printers and converters can also use the light's multiple-sync and phase control capability to tie it into printing lines, and all of this can be done without dragging power supplies around the plant and looking for places to power up."

Unilux stroboscopic inspection lights enable press operators and inspectors to spot defects at full production speeds by using the stroboscopic effect to essentially freeze images of fast-moving lines. Random coating skips, pickups, fish eye, gel, dirt, streaks, fog, pin holes, color changes and registration problems are easily seen. Lights help to greatly reduce waste, increase yield, and improve inspection confidence as well as customer satisfaction.

The Unilux Lith-O-Light family features five sizes to handle printing inspection needs for wide and narrow webs on presses and finishing equipment moving at full production speeds. Unilux self-contained inspection systems use high-output, long-linear stroboscopic lamps to spread light evenly across the entire strip. Unilux enables operators to inspect the full web width of a press or rewinder instead of a small sample with a handheld spot strobe. Hands-free operation can be achieved by synchronizing inspection systems to line speed with Unilux's microprocessor-based, programmable controllers.
