U.S. Coast Guard Adopts JVC GY-HM100U ProHD Camcorders for Public Affairs

WAYNE, NJ - JVC Professional Products Company, a division of JVC Americas Corp., today announced the U.S. Coast Guard has standardized on the GY-HM100U ProHD camcorder for its Public Affairs Program. In October, 20 cameras were purchased and distributed to public affairs offices, detachments, and training commands. Public Affairs Specialists use the camcorders for a variety of projects, including training videos, interviews, and B-roll footage of Coast Guard operations.

A compact, handheld 3-CCD camcorder with a built-in Fujinon 10x lens, the GY-HM100U records HD video (1080i, 720p, or 1080p) to dual non-proprietary SDHC memory cards. With JVC's native file recording technology, it can record in ready-to-edit file formats for Apple Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere (.MOV), as well as other NLE systems that are compatible with Sony XDCAM EX files (.MP4).
