Trimble Partners with Tieto Corporation to Bring Intelligent Wood and Fibre Solutions to Nordic Forestry Regions

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today that Tieto Corporation, the largest IT services company in the Nordics, will distribute Trimble's LogForce™ forestry transportation planning software and WoodForce™ planning control system software for harvesting operations in the Nordic forestry regions.

Tieto is investing in forest and paper industry-specific solutions and is now offering its technology, solutions, partner-developed industry applications and cloud services to the wood and fiber supply ecosystem. In November 2015, Tieto acquired Imano AB, the leading consulting company in wood and fibre sourcing in Sweden. Collaborating with Trimble will further strengthen Tieto's ability to serve the Swedish and Norwegian forest industries with innovative technologies.

Trimble's LogForce is a mobile Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) that provides logging and transportation contractors and forest companies with the ability to efficiently plan and manage transport within the supply chain. WoodForce is a SaaS solution that enables planning and operations control for harvesting and forestry services. The software is a key component of Trimble's Connected Forest solutions, which manage the full raw materials lifecycle of planning, planting, growing, harvesting and transport.

"Tieto is a great match for our company," said Ken Moen, general manager for Trimble's Forestry Division. "Tieto has built a solid IT services reputation in the Nordic forestry market. Together, we will offer our already successful and widely implemented solutions in Finland to customers in Sweden and Norway to enable customers to improve operational efficiency with the Trimble Connected Forest solution."

"We are very excited to be working with Trimble," said Jaakko Kuusisaari, head of Information Driven Supply Chain for Forest Industry at Tieto. "Our ability to sell Trimble's LogForce and WoodForce in the Nordic region to both new and existing customers allows us to provide solutions across a broader spectrum of forestry processes."
