TricorBraun Creates Custom Mold for Small Peanut Butter Manufacturer

Home has been the starting point for many remarkable new businesses. For Justin Gold, eight years ago, it was where he perfected his recipe for peanut butter. Now, his company has been selected as one of the 50 Colorado Companies to Watch by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade.

To help Justin's Nut Butter generate continued growth, TricorBraun was asked to develop a compelling container, something that stood out from all the round containers on the shelf.

The company's Design and Engineering department developed a custom mold for a square, clear PET container.

Michael Murphy, TricorBraun senior designer, said, "Justin's was looking for a square bottle with as much vertical shelf presence as possible. We were limited by the small amount of head space required. We also couldn't make the width of the bottle any smaller than the diameter of the 70 mm closure. We were able to achieve Justin's goals by modifying the footprint of the bottle."

The new bottle is taller than it is wide and offers large panel profiles to distinguish the product from its competitors. Pressure sensitive labels are used on three sides of the container.

TricorBraun (www.tricorbraun.com) is one of the world's leading suppliers of packaging. It has 34 offices in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Asia.
