Tri-State Equipment Company, Inc. Acquires EMS Automation & Service

Tri-State Equipment Company, Inc., a St. Louis-based manufacturer of overhead cranes, ergonomic part manipulators, and fall protection systems has acquired EMS Automation & Service, a Hanna City, Illinois-based business specializing in robotic integration for material handling, welding, cutting and machine tending applications.

Tri-State's acquisition of EMS will accelerate the growth of its automation business. Excellent opportunities are expected for the automation and robotic sector with manufacturers struggling to onboard skilled labor and facing mounting pressure to increase output to meet rising demand. Tri-State will expand on their automated crane offerings as well as their custom robotic solutions. Matt Timme, Co-President of Tri-State, said: "With EMS we can enter a new dimension that will boost growth and open up new opportunities to our customers. We are thrilled to welcome the talented EMS team members and their reputation for providing innovative solutions" In order to support the increased business anticipated from the acquisition and its other core operations, Tri-State Equipment has commenced a 20,000 sqft expansion of its Bridgeton manufacturing facility and is also increasing the footprint of its Hanna City building.

Tri-State Equipment Company, in business since 1959, goes to market under the business units of Tri-State Overhead Crane, Ergonomic Partners, Engineered Fall Protection and Tri-State Rigging Equipment offering turnkey solutions including design, manufacture, installation and continued maintenance for its full line of products.
