Trelleborg to Debut Smart Textiles Solution at Techtextil Frankfurt
Trelleborg, Sweden – May, 8 2019: Trelleborg’s engineered coated fabrics operation will debut a new polyurethane-coated smart textile at its booth at Techtextil in Frankfurt, Germany, May 14-17, 2019.
Developed in the U.K., in the patented process a smart textile is transfer coated with a Dartex® Endurance polyurethane coating. When incorporated into a medical mattress cover, the whole textile becomes a pressure map, alerting the patient and carer if the patient needs repositioning; a critical step in helping to prevent avoidable pressure ulcers.
