Transportation Marketing & Sales Association Announces 2020 Members of the Year

Minneapolis, Oct. 22, 2020 (MindShare Strategies Media Services) – The Transportation Marketing & Sales Association (TMSA) announces the 2020 TMSA Members of the Year, in recognition of their leadership and support of TMSA. Each year, TMSA recognizes a regular member and an affiliate member who have made significant advances to the association’s mission. Both individuals are being honored at the 2020 TMSA Logistics Marketing & Sales Association Virtual Conference October 21-22.

David Hoppens is named Member of the Year given his long history in the association’s leadership and his recent contributions as chairperson of TMSA’s succession planning committee. He also has accomplished significant work on the recently created TMSA revenue task force to identify new non-dues revenue streams to help TMSA through the COVID pandemic’s negative financial impact on the association. Hoppens currently is vice president of sales and marketing at Momentum Transportation, a Landstar agent, and is a long-standing member of the board of directors and former president and chairperson of TMSA.

Jill Schmieg is named Associate Member of the Year because of her significant leadership contribution as chairperson of the TMSA education committee, leading the board of directors through an extensive three-year strategic planning process, and most recently guiding a revenue task force to help generate new revenue streams for the association during the COVID-19 pandemic. Schmieg is founder and chief strategist at Sol de Naples Marketing, and has more than 15 years marketing, sales and business strategy experience in transportation and logistics.

“These are challenging times for many industry non-profit associations, and the success of TMSA relies heavily on the leadership, vision and support of its volunteer members,” said Brian Everett, TMSA’s chief executive officer. “These two individuals have contributed an incredible amount of talent, time, and leadership toward the mission of TMSA, which is to enable sales and marketing professionals to learn about and advance the transportation and logistics industry through education, connections and resources.” For additional information this award or TMSA in general, visit www.TMSAtoday.org or call 952-466-6270 ext. 201.
