TransitHound(TM) Sniffs Out Distracted Drivers at Chicago Auto Show

Berkeley Varitronics Systems To Showcase TransitHound Cell Phone Detection System To Combat Distracted Driving At the Connected World Auto Pavillion in the Chicago Auto Show.

METUCHEN, NJ — Berkeley Varitronics Systems, Inc. (BVS), a leading provider of advanced wireless test solutions and security products to the domestic and international wireless telecommunications industry, will be showcasing their in-vehicle, cell phone detection system, TransitHound, at this year's Connect World Conference which is co-located in the Chicago Auto Show, Booth CW422, in Chicago, IL from February 6th-17th.

TransitHound™ is a compact and discreet, in-vehicle receiver designed to detect all cell phone use by distracted drivers. When coupled with a camera and mobile DVR, TransitHound allows owners, dispatchers and managers to keep a watchful eye on their drivers by keeping their driving safe and legal for everyone. Whether your drivers are operating a train, bus or a truck; TransitHound will enforce a NO CELL PHONE USE policy in any vehicle where an impaired or distracted driver can endanger the public's safety without interfering with the public use of any wireless devices. TransitHound's system works simply...when any voice, text or cellular data is detected from within the vehicle. TransitHound timestamps the event and triggers video or still recording of offending cell phone.

In an effort to educate the public and promote safe driving, BVS booth CW422 features a video loop of the more recent tragic accidents and news stories involving distracted drivers of trucks, buses, trains and more. As part of their solution, BVS will be showcasing the TransitHound™ cell phone detector along with the Squid-PRO™ M2M Install Tool.

In addition to appearing in the BVS booth, BVS CEO President, Scott Schober, will appearing live on the Peggy Smedley Radio Show 12pm Saturday February 8th, talking about distracted driving and the hottest auto tech of the show.

The Connected World Conference will be co-located within a 35,000-sq.ft. pavilion within the 2014 Chicago Auto Show; all of the activities at the show will be supported by CONNECTED WORLD magazine for several months leading up to the show itself. The unique potential audience for connected devices and technologies is vast and growing.

The Connected Car Pavilion is designed around two main set pieces: the Connected Car of the Year Winners; and to represent how the connected car has become the hub of our connected lives.

"We're pleased to be returning to Connected World this year with some exciting products that are right on point with the conference's big push for distracted driving solutions and M2M in-vehicle services," says Scott Schober, BVS President & CEO.
