TPS Designs Custom Conveyor Oven for a Leading Supplier of the Medical Industry

New Columbia, PA – Thermal Product Solutions, a global manufacturer of thermal-processing equipment, announced the shipment of a custom industrial oven for curing epoxy on medical devices. The conveyor oven is designed with 2 (two) independent conveyors which utilize a light sensor at the end of them to detect the products. Safety was a huge concern for the customer so 80/20 guarding was designed and placed around all safety hazards. The guarding made the unit safer without the added cost of having a third party design and install the guarding.
The Gruenberg dual lane conveyor oven has a maximum temperature rating of 232°C (450°F) and work chamber of 22” W x 66” L x 16” H (10” above belt) with a stainless steel construction. The air heating system included seamless-tubular incolloy sheathed heaters that produce a high energy, efficient output of electric heat. The heaters are suspended in the plenum, adjacent to, but separate from the process chamber, so that work in progress and operators are protected. This curing conveyor oven was also designed with a temperature uniformity of ± 5°C at 150°C which was tested with a standard 12-point test prior to shipment.
