Toyota Number One in Lift Truck Sales for Fifth Consecutive Year

IRVINE, Calif., (August 30, 2007) - For the fifth consecutive year, Toyota is ranked as the world's largest lift truck supplier based on 2006 revenue reports. As seen in Modern Materials Handling's July 2007 issue, Toyota reported the highest global sales revenue of more than $5.5 billion, a nine percent increase over 2005 figures.

"As we celebrate our 40th year of establishing U.S. operations, we are pleased to solidify Toyota's position as the number one lift truck supplier worldwide," said Dr. Shankar Basu, president and CEO of Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. "A number of factors have contributed to Toyota's continued success, including our world-class dealer network, dedication to customer satisfaction, technology innovations and commitment to delivering product quality, durability and reliability. We look forward to another banner year with the recent product introductions of the 8-Series lift truck, 8-Series AC pallet truck, tow tractors and Toyota Fleet Solution program - all designed to meet and exceed customers' needs."

The Industrial Truck Association noted that lift truck sales worldwide increased in 2006, reflecting strong growth in the industry. To be eligible for Modern Materials Handling's Annual Top 20 ranking, companies must manufacture and sell lift trucks in at least one of the Industrial Truck Association's (IOTA) seven truck classes. Rankings are based on worldwide revenue from powered industrial trucks during each company's most recent fiscal year.
