Tire Pressure Systems Confidence Report Study by the NACFE Provides Decision Making Tools, Payback Calculators and Indicates an Increased Adoption Rate for Tire Pressure Systems in the Commercial Truck Market

The North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE) recently concluded an extensive study and published a report related to the Confidence of Adopting Tire Pressure Systems for the commercial truck market. The report provides data and details related to five technology categories including tire pressure monitoring (TPMS), Dual Tire Pressure Equalizers, Automatic Tire Inflation Systems (ATIS), Central Tire Inflation Systems and Passive Pressure Containment Approaches.

Tools and Information in the Report

The report provides support for the development of a good decision making process for the purchase of various tire pressure technologies. It provides insight for each technology in the following areas:

  •      Risks of Technology Adoption

  • "X Tire Pressure Technology Decision Matrix

  • "X Payback Calculator

  • "X Case Studies

  • "X Product Summary Sheets

  • "X Expanded List of Products and Systems Suppliers

“This report provides an unbiased perspective of all the available technologies to help fleets manage tire pressures and can be a valuable tool to help a fleet quickly gather updated information to help with their decision making process.” said Jim Samocki – General Manager, Doran Manufacturing. “Based on the number of TPMS trials that have turned into implementation with a wide variety of fleets, Doran was not surprised to read that the adoption rate of tire pressure systems technologies is increasing. With tires and tire repair/maintenance costs consuming such a large portion of expense budget, it is an easily targeted area where fleets can invest in technology that can significantly reduce their costs.”

Mike Roeth (Executive Director - NACFE) adds “The Tire Pressure Systems Confidence Report has been published and is available on the NACFE website in the Academy section. It can be downloaded for free by NACFE members. To become a member go to www.nacfe.org to establish your membership ($100) and then sign into the Academy to download the report. In addition, the report will be presented during upcoming webinars and industry events in the near future.”
