TIA Releases Road Service Safety Video

BOWIE, Maryland- June 8, 2007, The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced the release of the Road Service Safety training video for commercial tire service technicians. Made possible by a donation from the American Commercial Tire Network (ACTN), the Road Service Safety video covers a variety of subjects such as pre-trip inspection, driver safety, roadside safety, and vehicle lifting procedures. ACTN also funded the Keeping the Wheels On video that addressed the torque and installation guidelines for commercial wheel assemblies.

"Road service is a big part of the commercial tire industry, and the support of ACTN has led to another important risk management tool for TIA members," remarked Paul Hyatt, TIA President. "ACTN is a very progressive group of independent commercial tire dealers and when they perceive a need for a specialized training video, they step up to the plate with the resources to make it happen."

The Road Service Safety video also represents another immediate upgrade to the Association's Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Training and Certification Program. Certified CTS Instructors will receive a free copy for use in their training classes.

"Our training and certification programs are designed to evolve, so we made sure that every Certified CTS Instructor received a copy of this important training video as soon as it was available," said Roy Littlefield, TIA Executive Vice President. "We also reached out to our insurance partners at Zurich Direct Underwriters for their input, and as a result, our members have another resource to help lower their premiums."

The Road Service Safety video can be purchased by calling 800-867-8372, ext 107 or online at www.tireindustry.org.
