Thomas Launches Coronavirus Resource Hub for Manufacturing Sector

Industry’s largest buyer/supplier network mobilizes U.S. manufacturing community to fight COVID-19

New York, NY, March 26, 2020- In the wake of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Thomas, the leader in product sourcing, supplier selection, and marketing solutions for industry, is rallying and organizing the U.S. manufacturing and supply chain community to facilitate the essential production and delivery of mission-critical supplies needed in the fight against this pandemic.

Leveraging its digital, marketing, and data expertise, the company has launched the Coronavirus Resource Hub for Manufacturing. The dynamic, interactive platform, which is updated in real-time, identifies and connects suppliers with manufacturers who can pivot their production capabilities to expeditiously fabricate coronavirus-related supplies and with industrial businesses who have key supplies available to donate or sell.

“Our goal during this crisis is to rally the North American manufacturing community as quickly as possible to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The Coronavirus Resource Hub for Manufacturing activates the Thomasnet.com® community of more than 500,000 manufacturing companies and over 1 million registered industrial professionals, banding us all together in the COVID-19-related challenges we face,” said Thomas CEO and President Tony Uphoff. “Suppliers who aren’t already on our Thomasnet.com® platform can create a profile for free. Organizations looking to source critical personal protective equipment and related materials can also register and use our platform for free.”

Since the project’s launch 48 hours ago, hundreds of manufacturers have already volunteered their production capabilities and services. Companies interested in dedicating their resources to this ongoing effort can sign up to participate here.

In addition to providing a digital network for manufacturers to share their factory capacity, donate goods and services, and display their materials and services available for sale, Thomas’ Coronavirus Resource Hub for Manufacturing also includes:

State by state information (updated in real-time) on essential vs.non-essential business shut-down orders and detailed resources to apply for essential business exemptions.
Free business listings on Thomasnet.com to make sure the companies providing key goods and services can be found during this critical time.
Free subscription to the Thomas Industry Update daily newsletter to keep professionals informed about what’s happening across the industrial sector.
Shipping and logistics tracker (updated daily)
Actions and suggested next steps for industrial businesses and professionals

These new efforts to address the COVID-19 crisis follow two timely market surveys that Thomas released in February and March 2020, each of which examines the outbreak’s impact on North American manufacturing and industrial suppliers along with the solutions they are implementing to meet evolving sourcing demands. We will continue launching these surveys monthly. Click here to sign up to be part of the Thomas Industrial Survey panel.
