Sydney Australia - RedPrairie Corporation, the world's leading Consumer driven optimisation provider, announced today that The Works, the UK's leading retailer of value books, crafts and gifts, has selected RedPrairie's Workforce Management (WFM) solution to optimise labour management at its Sutton Coldfield distribution centre.
RedPrairie's Workforce Management solution enables organisations to increase productivity, optimise resources and reduce supply chain costs. Its flexible, web-based reporting tool provides real-time performance monitoring to proactively address potential problems before they disrupt the operation. With the resource planning and scheduling function, managers are able to confidently staff the warehouse to optimise resource utilisation.
The WFM programme will provide The Works with a tool to improve service levels and operational efficiency as well as employee morale. Cost savings will be realised through the establishment of preferred work methods and accurate expectations for work tasks, taking into account actual travel distances, product characteristics and environmental factors, and a comprehensive training approach that creates a performance focused workforce.
Diane Smith, Supply Chain Manager at The Work's comments, "One of our key corporate initiatives is the continued expansion and growth of the business. To ensure success, our supply chain must become even more adaptable and responsive to the needs of our end customer. As our people are the backbone of our supply chain, investment in this area was an easy decision." Chief Executive Chris Maddox added, "The RedPrairie solution totally supports our culture of continuous improvement, where we all work together to create a more efficient and effective supply chain."
Martin Hiscox, RedPrairie Managing Director and President - International says, "We continue to experience significant momentum for RedPrairie's Workforce Management solution. Forward-thinking companies are astutely recognising the significant savings and competitive advantage provided by WFM solutions. With more than 40 years of proven practice in Workforce Management and engineered standards, RedPrairie's experience and breadth of functionality is superior in the market and offers customers rapid return on investment."
