The Ultimate Linear Reference Library Now Available

Schaeffler UK has just published a comprehensive three-in-one reference library, which includes three new linear hardback books on track roller guidance systems, shaft guidance systems and monorail guidance systems.

Three hardback linear reference guides, supplied as a bound set, which cover Schaeffler Group's complete range of linear motion products, is now available, providing engineers with the ultimate linear reference library.

The 750-page set includes information on Schaeffler's range of track roller guidance systems, shaft guidance systems and monorail guidance systems.

The guide to track roller guidance systems includes 112 pages of information and technical data on locating and non-locating track rollers, concentric and eccentric fasteners, solid and hollow section guideway profiles, as well as a range of accessories.

Due to their lightweight construction, track roller guidance systems are typically used in materials handling applications, where quiet running, high speeds and relatively long travel distances are required, together with uniformly low displacement resistance.

The 175-page shaft guidance systems reference book includes information on linear bearings, shaft support blocks, rail guidance units and housing units. As well as providing technical data on individual products, the book also includes useful information on load carrying capacities, friction, lubrication, design of bearing arrangements, operating clearances or the fitting of shaft guidance systems.

Shaft guidance systems comprise shafts or shaft and support rail units combined with low friction linear ball bearings or Schaeffler's Permaglide® plain bearings. The shafts can be either solid or hollow, while shaft and support rail units are always solid. For easy mounting, the guidance systems are also available as complete linear bearing and housing units.

Linear bearings can support high radial loads, while having a relatively low mass and enable the construction of linear guidance systems with unlimited travel The bearings come in 'closed' versions with a segment cut out for supported shafts. The radial clearance can be adjusted on certain versions, which means the user can achieve clearance-free or preloaded guidance systems.

The monorail guidance systems reference book includes information on linear recirculating roller bearing guideways, linear recirculating ball bearing guideways and linear guidance systems with linear recirculating ball bearing units, as well as a comprehensive range of accessories. There is also information on load carrying capacities, basic life ratings, preload, friction, special coatings, lubrication options and fitting instructions.
