The Rodon Group Named Finalist for Plastics News Processor of the Year Award

The Rodon Group has been named a finalist for the 16th Annual Processor of Year Award presented by Plastics News. This prestigious award will be presented at the end of January at the Plastics News Executive Forum in Tampa, FL.

The Rodon Group is an ISO 9001:2008 certified landfill-free, high precision plastic injection molder located in Hatfield, PA. In business since 1956, The Rodon Group makes billions of parts each year in its 125,000 square foot facility. With over 106 injection molding presses, Rodon is one of the largest family-owned and operated injection molders in the United States. The Rodon Group serves a diverse group of industries including consumer products, medical, construction, pharmaceutical and toys. Since 1992, Rodon has manufactured over 30 billion parts for the K'NEX building toy system and is a sister company with K'NEX.

Being named one of three finalists for such a highly respected and regarded award among other North American plastics processors is a huge honor for Rodon. All nominees are evaluated on seven criteria: financial performance, quality, customer relations, employee relations, environmental performance, industry/public service and technological innovation. Rodon received its highest marks in the award criteria of financial performance, technology, employee relations and quality, and scored solid grades in the other three areas.

"When you can make something, you can do anything. Our team has evolved over the last 56 years to produce innovative products that inspire creativity by design, said Michael Araten, President and CEO of The Rodon Group and K'NEX. We are honored to have been named a finalist, and it is a testament to our dedication to American manufacturing and doing well by doing good. We are incredibly optimistic about our future and the future of our industry."

In order to compete, Rodon determined that the best way to win is by innovating and automating their processes. This allows Rodon to put itself in the "Too Good to Be True" category of matching or beating offshore pricing competition, shortening the customers' supply chain, producing parts with a 99.8% acceptance rate (which is above military specs) and delivering a high-end design/build solution.
