The Rodon Group is Bringing Back Injection Molding From China

Invests over $500,000 in Star Automation Equipment to Take on High-Volume Food-Grade Molding Project

Rodon announces it has expanded its automation capabilities and is now making FDA compliant products

Hatfield, PA- When the Rodon Group needed to successfully obtain a project to manufacture over 400 million pieces per year, and match China's price, they knew the project would have to be highly automated. To make the project a little more challenging, the injection molded parts also need to be FDA compliant.

"We have improved our ability to automate projects over the last 54 years. This project may be the most complex in our history," says Lowell Allen, Senior VP of the Rodon Group. "In order to get the job done, we knew there was really only one place to go for the robotics that work seamlessly with our equipment - Star Automation. Star brings the combination of great equipment and great people to the table. They really work to understand the scope of our project. That support makes it much easier to invest in automation and bring a large project to a successful conclusion."

"Rodon has been a client of ours since 2006, and they completely understand the benefits of automating a manufacturing process. The parts they produce are incredibly precise, and we know that our robots have to work incredibly well to make the entire project a success. Rodon has been a terrific partner for us," says Mr. Kenji Shiotani, President of Star Automation.

"Together, we look forward to repatriating more injection molding opportunities that will provide shorter lead times, and a lower total cost, for our customers who are currently looking overseas."
