The George Whalley Company Divests Cutting Tools and Industrial Supplies Division, Directs Focus to Coolant-Fed Tooling & Systems®

Cleveland, OH - January 24, 2011 - The George Whalley Company has recently sold the assets of their Cutting Tools and Industrial Supplies Division to Jergens Industrial Supply (JIS) of Cleveland, Ohio. The Coolant-Fed Tooling & Systems® Division was not part of this transaction, and remains part of The George Whalley Company, a privately held corporation.

"This move allows us to focus exclusively on what we are most passionate about: our Coolant-Fed Tooling & Systems® product line," stated Howard Whalley, President of The George Whalley Company. "Our focus on these products will become increasingly apparent in 2011, as we introduce new coolant-fed innovations for multi-axis machining applications, high-speed machining applications, modular tooling and more."

The George Whalley Company was founded in 1937 as a distributorship for cutting tools and industrial supplies. The Coolant-Fed Tooling & Systems® Division emerged in 1967 to fill a niche in the industry which the limits of conventional tooling could not fill. Over the past five decades, the company has developed many coolant-fed innovations including unique rotary-type coolant glands, coolant machine tool retrofit systems and specialized holders and sealing devices for coolant-fed tooling.

Today, The George Whalley Company offers the most comprehensive lineup of standard and special products for coolant-fed applications including drills, reamers and cutters, end mills, taps, spade drill inserts and holders, toolholders, sealing devices, pumps and more. The company will be introducing new Coolant-Fed Tooling and Systems® solutions throughout 2011.
