Texas Instruments Presents TI-Tech Day Analog Design Seminar
DALLAS (April 4, 2006) - Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) will present TI-Tech Day Analog Design Seminar on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in Bloomington, MN. The seminar offers three technical tracks of instruction and demonstrations on precision analog applications, low power ISM-band and ZigBee(TM) design techniques, and power supply and battery management design. Each track has five sessions so engineers can create an agenda that provides the detailed information they need for successful design. The training seminar, created for TI customers, will highlight techniques for precise design applications in Track One and provide pertinent examples. TI instructors will cover remote monitoring of air flow, humidity and intrusion detection as well as temperature monitoring. They will discuss techniques for measuring with thermistors, RTDs, diode junctions and silicon temperature sensors. Included in this track are multi-channel data acquisition, bridge measurements (with PCB layout) and designing around and using a SAR ADC, TINA-TI, a free SPICE circuit simulation tool and FilterPro, and an active filter design tool.
Track Two will focus on RF design as well as low-power RF design considerations such as power vs. distance tradeoffs, power design pitfalls and system level implications. Best practices in RF circuit design will also be covered. A session dedicated to ZigBee encompasses hardware and software requirements and a discussion on ZigBee vs. proprietary considerations. In addition, a session on antenna design and selection will showcase antenna types, performance tradeoffs and layout considerations.
The five sessions in Track Three include power supply layout considerations, sequencing power supplies in multiple voltage rail environments, battery fundamentals, Li-Ion technology and battery management and switch-mode power conversion issues for portable applications. Instructors will share tips and tricks on improving designs, review sample layouts and discuss future development trends.
Cost of the training is $99 and includes seminar materials, lunch and the evening reception. TI analog design tools will be available for purchase at the seminar and are offered at a $99 discount for up to 30 days following the event.
