Tanks Direct Celebrates 25 Years in Construction Industry
Laurel, Md – October 1, 2018 – Tanks Direct, one of the nation’s largest suppliers of aboveground and underground storage tank systems, is celebrating twenty-five years in the construction industry.
In 1993, Paul Robertson, president and founder, started a distribution business that worked to provide storage tanks and related equipment to the mechanical contracting community. Working with one other employee, Joel Nicchitta, vice-president of sales, the company slowly grew to add additional product lines.
As their dedication to customer service and provision of the best solution for their project started to get more attention in the market, the company grew greater relationships within the mechanical, plumbing, electrical and general contracting community. As a result, the company added more employees and resources.

The company introduced installation and removal services to offer clients additional versatility of in-house technicians. This addition was officially expanded in 2015 to offer a Service and Maintenance division serving the Mid-Atlantic region. The inception of this new division enabled Tanks Direct to create a full wheelhouse of care for the life of a tank. After decades of continuous improvement and dedication, Tanks Direct has established a reputation as the go-to resource for storage tanks and accessories, installation and service.
Most recently, through an exclusive relationship with the nation’s largest fiberglass tank manufacturer, Tanks Direct has expanded to new geographic regions with territory representatives in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest.

Tanks Direct employees celebrated the milestone anniversary on September 15, 2018, with a crab feast hosted at Fisherman’s Crab Deck in Grasonville, Maryland.
