Tandberg Data and D&H Distributing Ink Agreement to Offer Tape Drive and Automation Product Line

POWAY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 2006--Tandberg Data Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tandberg Data ASA (OSE:TAD), today announced that it has entered into an agreement with D&H Distributing, the national computer products and consumer electronics distributor, to distribute Tandberg Data's StorageLoader(TM), InteliStor(TM) and LTO tape drive product lines. All hardware models covered by the agreement are now in stock and available for D&H to ship.

"D&H wants to provide the maximum value for its SMB and small enterprise VARs. Storage and back-up are two of the most high-demand categories in the market because users' needs are crucial in this area," said Dan Schwab, vice president of marketing at D&H Distributing. "Businesses require efficiency, versatility and premium capacity, which means no less than first-rate storage solution. Tandberg Data's line of tape drives meets that challenge, delivering a prudent combination of quality, scalability and capacity at an SMB price point."

"Our new agreement with D&H allows us to deliver the Tandberg Data line of LTO-based storage solutions to a significantly expanded customer base that includes small and mid-size businesses seeking more sophisticated technologies that can help them compete against larger competitors, as well as commercial customers who demand integrated storage solutions and superior service and support," explained Ken Cruden, Tandberg Data COO.

Tandberg Tape Drives and Automation

Tandberg's LTO-based tape drive solutions include the most compact and fastest LTO2 half-height drive in the industry -- the 420LTO. Along with the 420LTO Tandberg offers both LTO2 and LTO3 based full-height tape drives. As a design and manufacturing licensee in the LTO consortium, Tandberg assures customers that the data they protect and store on today's technology can be read on future generations of LTO drives with Tandberg's LTO roadmap supporting five generations of low-cost half-height LTO drive technology. Its comprehensive line of tape-based automation products includes autoloaders based on LTO2, LTO3 and SLR(TM) technologies. The Tandberg StorageLoader(TM) autoloaders provide the highest data density in the industry: up to 3.2TB with LTO2 in a 1U form factor.
