TAB Industries Expands Welding Shop

Thriving Metals Manufacturer Invests in New Workstations

Reading, PA: Metalworking manufacturer TAB Industries, LLC, Reading, Pa. (TABIndustries.com), recently installed three new welding workstations to meet high levels of current demand for its services. Expanding its in-house capacity by more than 300%, the new equipment comprises one MIG and two TIG workstations with welding fixtures, modular tables, accessories, and storage racking, plus an electrostatic cleaning station for stainless steel. The welding department expansion represents an investment of nearly $40,000.00, implemented shortly after investing in a slate of new machinery and equipment to expand its in-house laser cutting and metal fabrication departments.

Installed in the company's 44,000-square foot, Reading, Pa. manufacturing center, the latest investment is part of a multi-year plan to align the company's range of in-house services with the needs of area businesses while providing a positive environment for staff to grow and thrive, according to Tom Brizek, president. “When we launched this initiative several years ago, we thought we were staying ahead of the changes in the economy,” says Brizek. “But the lockdowns have accelerated the process so we've had to accelerate our expansion timetable to keep up with demand.”

In addition to offering welding, the company offers laser cutting, metal fabrication, CNC and traditional machining, stamping, deburring, powder coating, and a variety of engineering, finishing, assembly, packaging, and supply chain services. Additional equipment acquisitions are being considered.
