Syrgis Hires R&D Expert for Lead Technology, Innovation Role

Dr. Dana Durham Named Vice President -Technology and Innovation
CINCINNATI - (October 19, 2010) - Syrgis®, an international diversified group of fine and specialty chemical manufacturers, today announced that Dana L. Durham, Ph.D. will assume the role of Vice President -Technology and Innovation.
"Dana's key strengths with building and guiding cross-functional teams in the areas of R&D, application support, innovation, and guiding the understanding of science and its application to solve customer problems brings additional depth and breadth of perspective to the Syrgis' management team," said Andy Harris, Syrgis CEO. Durham brings 30 years of experience as a proven visionary, scientist and team builder to Syrgis. In his new role as Vice President-Technology and Innovation at Syrgis, Durham will lead the company's R&D efforts and foster the company's commitment to technology-driven advances in process control and design. Previously, Durham has served as a Director of Research for Air Products and Chemicals, where he developed his skills at solving problems and successfully commercialized and licensed new technology. Durham also held scientific leadership positions at Ashland, Clariant and Hoechst Celanese.
Recognized as an industry leader, Durham has 39 patents and has published numerous papers and presentations. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from University of Oklahoma and received his doctorate in organic chemistry from University of Nebraska.
