Synventive Expands in China

Company opens additional facility in Suzhou to keep up with continued growth in Asia

Peabody, Mass. (February 1, 2010) . . . Synventive Molding Solutions has announced it will add a new facility in Suzhou, China to increase its hot runner system production. This ex-pansion is necessary to keep up with its continued growth in the region.

In addition to its Asian headquarters in Suzhou, which was established in 2005, Synventive will expand to an additional facility nearby at Unit 20, Gang Tian Industrial Square, Suzhou Industry Park. The new factory will more than double the capacity of the current facility over a two year period.

Synventive will initially move its hot runner nozzle, tip, and small manifold manufacturing work cells to the new facility. This is scheduled to take place in March 2010. Also moving to the new facility is the company's hot runner system R&D Department. The increased space will allow Synventive to expand its R&D by adding a new, larger test lab and offices. The test lab will feature state-of-the-art equipment and injection molding machines.

This expansion is the latest development in an aggressive growth plan for Synventive in Asia. From the establishment of its Asian headquarters office in China just five years ago, in 2005, the company now has two manufacturing facilities in Suzhou, and direct China sales offices in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Tianjin and Ningbo, as well as other Asia locations in Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and India.

"The new facility and equipment will undoubtedly enhance our market competitiveness," said John Jofre, Synventive Asia President. "It also demonstrates our strong belief in the growth opportunities of the Chinese market. We will seize these opportunities and turn our increased capacity into actual results in the near future."
