Switching Mode Power Supplies Eliminate Parallel Connection of Smaller Units
A series of compact, fully integrated, high power/high voltage solid-state power supplies that can be conveniently located at the point-of-load is available from Diversified Technologies, Inc. of Bedford, Massachusetts.
HVPS Switching Mode Power Supplies fit into a single rack and can be combined to provide up to 600 kW of output from 10 kV to 150 kV to replace inductrols and large 60 Hz transformer rectifiers. Eliminating the parallel connection of smaller power supplies, these solid-state units can be located at the point-of-load and reduce the amount of high voltage cabling required.
Providing full over-voltage and over-current protection up to +30% or preset to ±0.1% max. ripple and N+1 reliability, HVPS Switching Mode Power Supplies feature a 30" sq. footprint and use common tap water for cooling. Compact and efficient, they are suitable for use in particle accelerators, large security X-ray systems, large transmitters, and similar applications.
