Supply Chain Professionals: Are Your Virtual Pull Systems All They Could Be?

Don Guild, Synchronous Management, to Provide Best Practices for Kanban and Materials Requirements Planning for ISM-7 Counties, CSCMP NYCONN Roundtable, and APICS Tappan Zee on March 18.

Elmsford, NY — Attention supply chain professionals: Are you confident in your ability to develop virtual pull systems that optimize production schedules and inventories? Could you be making better use of Kanban and Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems for further improvements? The next joint meeting of ISM-7 Counties, CSCMP NYCONN Roundtable, and APICS Tappan Zee* will help you master these components of “virtual pull” so that you can add more value to your organization.

Don Guild, Founder of Synchronous Management, will present: MRP and Kanban: Virtual Pull in the Supply Chain. He will discuss:

• How to right-size or re-size your facility(ies) for optimum product flow.

• What techniques are appropriate for signaling replenishment.

• How to resolve conflicts between Kanban and MRP systems.

• Why ‘pull’ systems deteriorate.

• What to do when Kanban says to buy one thing and MRP dictates something else.

• How to make Kanban and ERP work together.

• Why suppliers too often produce what we don’t need and not what we do need.

*ISM stands for the Institute for Supply Management; CSCMP is the Council of Supply Chain Management professionals, and APICS is the Association for Operations Management.
