Steelcraft Appoints Steel Industry Veteran to Board of Directors


WATERLOO ON, February 06, 2012 - Steelcraft, a leading provider of custom-engineered steel products, components and systems announced today that it has appointed David Sutherland to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Mr. Sutherland brings to Steelcraft's Board extensive business leadership, governance, and steel manufacturing industry experience. David Sutherland enjoyed a 30+ year career with integrated North American steel plate manufacturer IPSCO, the latter five spent as the company's president and chief executive officer. As IPSCO CEO, he increased company revenue from $1.1 billion to $3.8 billion, and successfully negotiated sale of IPSCO to Swedish steel company SSAB in 2007.

He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of several public companies including GATX Corporation, United States Steel Corporation and Imperial Oil, and is a member of the Board of Governors of the University of Saskatchewan.

Mr. Sutherland is a former member of the Board of Directors for ZCL, a publicly traded fiberglass storage tank company, based in Edmonton, Alberta. In July of 2011, Steelcraft purchased ZCL's steel tank manufacturing division, also located in Edmonton. He is also past chairman of the American Iron and Steel Institute, and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Steel Institute, Steel Producers Association and the National Association of Manufacturers.
