ASABE Adopts International Standard on Ag Tractor Instructional Seats



ST JOSEPH, MICHIGAN- The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has adopted with deviations ISO 23205:2006, Agricultural tractors - Instructional seats.

The ASABE document, ANSI/ASABE AD23205:2006, Agricultural tractors - Instructional seats, replaces ASABE standard ANSI/ASAE S574. Instructional Seat for Agricultural Tractors, which was used as the basis for ISO 23205. This adoption includes some minor modifications to the ISO document. For example, the ASABE document covers self-propelled machinery for agriculture and specifies updated seat belt requirements.
The adoption further harmonizes national and international standardization, a goal that facilitates manufacturing, safety advancements and product marketing worldwide.
