Spirex Corporation Will Feature Its New Quantum Processing System and Other Plasticating System Technologies at Plastec West '07

Youngstown --- Ohio: Spirex Corporation, the leading worldwide manufacturer of complete plasticating systems and solutions, will exhibit at Plastec West on February 13-15,2007 in Booth #4069.

At Plastec West, Spirex will feature its new Quantum Processing System that has demonstrated impressive performance results across a wide variety of resins.

In recent comparison testing, the Quantum Processing System compared favorably to four available systems on an Injection Molding unit with all tests done at 300 screw rpm, 11.7 cubic inch (191.7 cubic cm) shot volume. The performance results were graphed to see the results between each system for screw recovery time, % of maximum torque used and plasticating rate across a wide range of resins including: PP(20), PP(07), PE(2), PP(12), ABS, PET, Nylon, GE Nylon, PP (35), and PP(10).

The Quantum system outperformed all other systems in practically every category and type of resin. However, the most impressive results appeared in PET for screw recovery time, % of maximum torque required and plasticating rate. The unique barrel and screw design combination creates an impressive range of both high output and superior mixing for even the toughest applications.

In addition, Spirex will highlight its Twinshot® Co-Injection Technology System. The Twinshot patented co-injection technology is a cost-effective process that significantly reduces part cost while improving product quality. It's a single injection unit, co-injection system that can be easily retrofitted to existing screw/barrel injection molding machines. Available only from Spirex, Twinshot enables a conventional machine with a single barrel and screw to inject two materials in one operation, with one material totally enclosing the other.

Attendees can also learn more about Spirex's other product offerings including: screws, barrels and front end components.

Spirex will also be promoting another product line addition: the QSO® (Quick Shut-Off) Non-Return Valve. Compared to conventional ball-and ring-check valves, only the QSO Valve delivers both high flow and quick shut off. This unique combination of benefits ensures molders of rapid material shut off for part weight consistency; and a smooth, high-flow profile to prevent material degradation. The result is higher quality parts, fewer rejects, improved yield, and a better return on every pound of material.
