SouthWood Signs Will Identify and Guide Carolina Thread Trail

CHARLOTTE - SouthWood Corporation (www.southwoodcorp.com), which specializes in the creation and implementation of image-conscious signage and graphics for clients nationwide, has pledged to donate $50,000 of consulting and creative services and/or signage products over the next five years to support the Carolina Thread Trail. This in-kind donation will be used to help with the strategic development and design guidelines for signage and identity, as well as for actual signage products used along the Carolina Thread Trail.

"SouthWood's initial role will be to help guide the process as the needs for the Carolina Thread Trail are defined," says Ernest Dwight, president of SouthWood. "We are proud to be associated with such a worthwhile endeavor."

The Carolina Thread Trail will be a regional trail network that will eventually reach 15 counties and over two million people, linking cities, towns, and attractions.

Foundation For The Carolinas and more than 40 community and business leaders participated in a discovery process that resulted in the Carolina Thread Trail vision. Building on the work of the Voices and Choices initiative, Catawba Lands Conservancy and The Trust for Public Land worked with community leaders to formulate the idea of a 15-county regional trail system. The Thread vision closely aligned with the guiding principles from the discovery process; thus the Foundation, the Catawba Lands Conservancy and The Trust for Public Land formed a partnership to plan what would become the Carolina Thread Trail.

"We appreciate this generous offer by SouthWood and Ernest Dwight's sincere interest in the Carolina Thread Trail," says Dave Cable, Executive Director of Catawba Lands Conservancy. "We look forward to assembling a team with SouthWood to tackle our signage strategy and execution."
