Solvay Advanced Polymers Introduces Low-Warp IXEF®2060 Polyarylamide

ALPHARETTA, Ga., Nov. 18 /-- Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C. has launched a new structural high-performance nylon, IXEF® 2060 polyarylamide. This 55% glass-reinforced material offers low warpage, improved vibration resistance and excellent surface finish, resulting in parts that have high strength and stiffness, retain their dimensions, and have excellent surface quality, yet can be processed easily on conventional injection molding equipment.

"This particular grade of IXEF resin offers anisotropic (multidirectional) shrinkage that is at least two times lower than competitive low-warp materials, resulting in significantly flatter surfaces with high tensile strength," said An Nuyttens, IXEF Product Manager. "On the other hand, the high mechanical properties make this product a superb candidate for a variety of applications," she continued.

Examples include:

o Automotive and transport - fuel pumps, cam covers, vandal-proof seats, rear-view mirror housings, clutch parts, wiper controls, oil filter bodies, headlamp control pivots, door handles, seat adjustment mechanisms, and headlamp surrounds.
o Electrotechnology - connectors, chassis and housings for electrical and electronic equipment, sliding parts in video recorders, safety switches, disk supports for CD players, induction motor supports, and telecommunications parts.
o Domestic electric - electric razor heads, iron parts, vacuum cleaner motor supports, and sewing machine parts.

The product is also a good choice for leisure industry applications, machine tools, furniture, and medical equipment-any application where low warpage, high tensile strength, low creep, excellent surface finish, low water absorption, and resistance to a wide range of chemical solvents are required.
