Solutia Announces Sale of Certain Other Rubber Chemicals Businesses


Continues strategic focus on high-value products with world-leading positions

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 1, 2011 - Solutia Inc. (NYSE: SOA) announced today that it has sold its dithiocarbamates (DTCs) and tetrabenzylthiuram disulfide (TBzTD) businesses to Performance Additives Europe GmbH, a subsidiary of Behn Meyer Chemical Holding (S) Pte. Ltd., for $26 million, subject to a customary working capital adjustment. These products are manufactured in Termoli, Italy.

Solutia's Technical Specialties division offers advanced chemical and specialty products that meet or exceed rigorous specifications and are distributed through a proven, global supply system.
