Solar Plastics Awarded Patent for Cost-Saving Process
DELANO, Minn. (February 24, 2006) - Solar Plastics, Inc., a supplier of custom engineered rotationally molded plastic parts, announces the awarding of a U.S. patent for a new process that offers significant savings to its OEM clients and other potential users.
The company's Solar Vision(TM) sightline process allows clients to easily gauge content levels in opaque tanks. Common applications, designed by OEM engineers, include fuel, hydraulic and custom tanks for chemical, pharmaceutical, lawn and garden, industrial floor cleaning, road construction and numerous other applications.
"This newly patented process saves our customers from the expense of adding a sending unit or other type of exterior tank gauge, plus it eliminates hardware items, assembly costs and potential leak areas," according to Chuck Carlsen, president of Solar Plastics.

The patented process provides a seamless translucent sightline and results in a uniform wall thickness throughout the tank. It can be made with a variety of materials and location, size, and shape can be customized according to design requirements.
