Solar California Update

Solar has big plans in 2009 with our decision to move forward with the California facility despite the challenging economic times that we are currently faced with. The western region is an untapped resource of work and opportunities for Solar Atmospheres and is rich with a strong Aerospace presence that lends itself to Solar's "Metal Processing Advantage". Recently Derek Dennis, President of Solar California stated "I am confident that with a lot of hard work and commitment, coupled with Solar's wealth of knowledge and expertise in the heat treating & furnace fabricating industries, Solar Atmospheres of California will become an industry leader in the West Coast market." Dennis plans on obtaining ISO9001/AS9100 registration, and Nadcap accreditation for heat treating and brazing, among multiple customer-direct certifications. This effort is in line with Solar's commitment to quality; a fact that the company has been built around.

Solar Atmospheres was founded in 1983 by William R. Jones, our Chief Executive Officer. It was a natural outgrowth of his pioneering work as a developer and manufacturer of vacuum furnaces having started Vacuum Furnace Systems (1978) and Solar Manufacturing (2002), Consequently, Solar uses the latest technology in processing parts and is continually investing in new furnace engineering. Solar now operates four plant sites, three in the Souderton (Eastern PA) area and the 64,500 square foot facility in Hermitage (Western PA). Both locations offer large furnace capacity, Advanced ten bar quenching and service characterized by quality and responsiveness.
The plan to open a new facility in California is a natural move for the Bill Jones team. It is part of an attitude of innovation, commitment and quality which fuels the fire at Solar Atmospheres. The company feels that the western side of the country is an integral part of a plan that enables customers to gain an advantage over their competitors in speed, precision and quality by offering an enhanced service area.
