SME Installs 2016 Officers of its Board of Directors, Elects Seven to College of Fellows



(DEARBORN, Mich.,) – SME, a nonprofit organization serving the manufacturing industry by promoting advanced manufacturing technology and developing a skilled workforce, has recognized several professionals who will assume new board leadership roles in 2016. These manufacturing professionals were recognized at an annual SME banquet on Nov. 8.



Officers of SME are chosen by a nominating committee and selected by the SME Board of Directors. These directors are elected annually by the entire voting membership of the organization.



2016 officers installed are:

“Like my colleagues and fellow officers, I am honored to serve SME and its members,” said Dean Bartles, 2016 SME president. “I’m eager to continue to expand SME’s initiatives and engagement, and I certainly offer gratitude to my predecessor Wayne Frost for his leadership in 2015.”



SME also recognized its 2015 Class of Fellows, who are selected once a year from among the highest achievers of industry, academia and government, and nominated only by honorary, fellow, life or professional member of SME. Those selected as fellows offer 20 years or more of manufacturing experience and expertise. They have contributed notably to the social, technological and educational benefit of manufacturing and the engineering profession.
