Caterpillar VP Joins SME Education Foundation Board
David P. Bozeman, vice president of Caterpillar's newly-created Integrated Manufacturing Operations Division, has responsibility for Caterpillar's core North American manufacturing operations. He joins four new 2011 SME Education Foundation directors.
DEARBORN, Mich. - David P. Bozeman, vice president, Caterpillar, Inc., Integrated Manufacturing Division, Peoria Ill, has been named to the 2011 SME Education Foundation Board of Directors. Bozeman joins four directors named this fall serving a two-year term beginning January 1, 2011.
David P. Bozeman, vice president of Caterpillar's newly-created, Integrated Manufacturing Operations Division, has responsibility for Caterpillar's core North American manufacturing operations located in East Peoria, Decatur and Aurora, Ill,; Monterrey and Torreon, Mexico; Peterlee, UK and Thiruvallur, India. He was named to lead this new division on June 1, 2010. Prior, he was vice president of Caterpillar's Core Components Division. Bozeman is a member of the board of directors for Caterpillar's China Machinery Components Co. and Advanced Filtration Systems, Inc. He also serves on Bradley University's Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering Advisory Board. A native of Chicago, Ill., Bozeman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology-Mechanical Design from Bradley University and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Kathy Burnham, APR, senior vice president, Padilla Speer Beardsley, Inc., Minneapolis, Minn., directs strategic planning, conducts research and manages integrated marketing communications programs.
Mike Schmidt, director, Education and Community Development, Ford Motor Company Fund, Dearborn, Mich., oversees Ford's major national partnerships with public K-12 education which includes the Henry Ford Academy and the Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies (Ford PAS), as well as the company's relationships with colleges and universities.
Susan E. Shimoyama, vice president, Global Sales Operations, Rockwell Automation, Milwaukee, Wis., directs its sales force; and a new organization within Rockwell which she created, developed and implemented resulting in a transformed global market-to-quote processes.
The Foundation's board members, representing business, industry and academia, were selected based on their involvement and commitment to issues critical to preparing the next generation for tech-based careers in a global economy.
