Siemens Presents Day Two Keynote on Factory Automation and Global Logistics at CMP Technology's RFID World 2007

IRVINE, Calif., March 12 // -- Anton S. Huber, group vice president, Siemens Automation and Drives group, will be presenting the keynote address on day two of the 5th Annual RFID World (rfid-world.com/rfid07/) March 28, 2007 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas.

In a speech titled, "RFID in Factory Automation and Global Logistics -- An Integrated Approach," Huber will discuss productivity gains that can be attained through global integration of RFID-based factory automation and logistics. While RFID supply chains today are focused on tracking goods in a narrow geographic region from the distribution center to the warehouse and onto store shelves, Huber will address the importance of embracing global competitiveness and how the use of RFID and a range of enabling automation technologies can meet the challenges of the global sourcing, manufacturing and supply of goods.

As vice president of Siemens' Automation and Drives group, Huber leads development and production for the factory automation, process automation and electrical building equipment sectors, as well as business development in Asia Pacific. Huber has held various management positions since joining Siemens in the Semiconductors Group in 1979, including president and CEO of Siemens Automotive LP and head of the Automation and Drives Process Automation and Instrumentation Division.

Day two of RFID World 2007 also features a general session on "Overcoming Challenges and Driving to an RFID Solution." A panel of experienced end-users will discuss ROI and business process changes achieved using RFID technology. The participants are: Conny van Vliet, project leader, Flora Holland; Michael O'Shea, director of corporate AutoID/RFID strategies and technologies at Kimberly-Clark Corporation; and James Stafford, head of RFID at Marks and Spencer.

On the second keynote panel, "RFID Technology Rapid Fire Roundtable," leading technology providers in hardware, software and systems integration will detail innovative solutions to the greatest challenges they faced in 2006. Representatives from Avery Dennison, Impinj Inc. ODIN Technologies, Reltronics Technologies, Inc. and NXP Semiconductors will also put before the audience the greatest challenges they see facing each of their market segments in 2007 and beyond.

RFID World 2007's main educational program (March 27-28) offers more than 100 sessions in nine tracks covering 12 topics over two days. The conference program is designed to address practical strategies for successful deployment of RFID in a diverse range of industries. Attendees will also visit with more than 200 exhibitors showcasing their latest products, partnerships and applications spanning a range of industries and continents from North America, Europe and Asia. On March 26, seven concurrent pre-conference events will precede the two-day RFID World 2007 conference and exhibition.

One highlight on the RFID World show floor is DHL's wireless delivery van of the future (Booth #1101) equipped with RFID, GPS, Wi-Fi and cellular technologies. Attendees can view RFID-tagged packages dynamically being read as they enter and exit the vehicle, and see real-time inventory tracking at all points in the delivery process.
