Siborg Systems Inc. Expands Sales, New Office in Southern China

The director of Siborg Systems Inc., Michael Obrecht, extends contacts to include local manufacturing companies and new sales office in Shenzhen, China.

In early summer, the Director of Siborg Systems Inc, Michael Obrecht, travelled to Shenzhen to make local manufacturing connections and appoint a new director of sales for a local office. The trip included various factory tours for manufacturing all parts of the company’s tweezer-based multimeters.

Obrecht visited a number of companies, including plastic mold and metal stamping companies, assembly companies and PCB manufacturers. These companies have all been considered for being a part in the manufacturing process of Siborg’s next generation of LCR-Reader’s professional quality electronic test equipment.

To start, Siborg visited plastic mold manufacturers: Shenzhen Lafer Technology Co., Dongguan Hensim rubber & Plastic Technology Co. and Alpine Mold. All of these companies are small business with 30-300 employees and offer highly flexible arrangements for plastic part manufacturing. While the other factories were all acceptable, Dongguan Hensim Rubber & Plastic Technology Co. showed more advanced manufacturing capabilities; the main deciding factor will be cost.

Some of the PCB assembly companies that were visited included Wanfeng Circuit Co., ChinaPCBOne, Shenzhen Sunsoar Circuit Co. and Shenzhen Eastwin Ltd. Each company employs 50 to 300 people, offer impressive labour efficiency, and are capable of lead times between 5-7 weeks due to reasonable SMT machinery parks. Out of these companies, only ChinaPCBOne offers full cycle PCB manufacturing and assembly provider; the other companies subcontract PCB manufacturing to third parties.

Michael also met with Shenzhen HTX Precision Hardware Co. which is currently working with Siborg on a new model of LCR-Reader-MP. This meeting was to discuss issues with the manufacturing process that is already underway.

For the last bit of business, Michael Obrecht had a series of meetings and discussions with Andy Leman, an Entrepreneur in Baoan, Shenzhen, China. Some of these meetings including Shenzhen Politechnic and Southern University of Science and Technology where Andy was presented as Siborg’s representative in Southern China. As head of the sales office, Andy will be Siborg’s primary distributor in China and South East Asia for all devices and software, including LCR-Reader, Smart Tweezers and educational software MicroTec Semiconductor Process and Device Simulation Software MicroTec.

The main products that will be available include:

LCR-Reader-MP offers users a 0.1% basic accuracy and the most functionality of all other tweezer-based multimeter. This device, like Smart Tweezers and LCR-Reader, is able to automatically determine the type of component and best test parameters to use before testing. All measurement values are instantly made available on the back-lit LCD display. Some features on the device include manual and automatic L, C, R, ESR, LED/Diode and continuity tests, AC/DC voltage/current measurements up to 15 V, two test signal levels with automatic test signal reduction, Signal Generator, pulse period and duty cycle measurements, frequency meter, variable test frequencies, Large Capacitance test mode up to 680 mF, and oscilloscope transient voltage display.

LCR-Reader is the basic model of LCR- and ESR-meter with a 0.5% basic accuracy. This model is controlled with a one-button navigation that allows the user to switch the measurement mode. LCR-Reader now comes with NIST Traceable Calibration certificate due to a new calibration fixture.

Smart Tweezers are the original test-tweezer multimeter. This model has a 0.2% basic accuracy and automatic and manual L, C, R, ESR, D, Q and Z measurements as well as Short/Diode testing, variable test signals and semi-automatic offset subtraction. A Bluetooth enabled model of Smart Tweezers is also available; the device can remotely send and receive measurement data to PC, Android and iOS devices. All incoming measurement data is received in a comma separated string of values and can be saved to a database or other filetype for later processing. This is exceptionally useful for incoming quality control. A new update to the device allows users to set custom profiles for measurements; users create a custom set of parameters that must be met by components in order for the program to grant a “pass”.

These devices are also available on Siborg’s online LCR-Reader Store, as well as other test devices and accessories. Siborg also offers pre-bundled task kits that include a device and accessories.
