World Of Asphalt, APC In Atlanta A Success



The World of Asphalt 2007 Show and Conference was the gathering place for the asphalt industry March 19-22, 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia International Convention Center.

More than 3,600 asphalt, highway maintenance and traffic safety industry professionals attended the event, with almost 14 percent international attendance. Some 222 exhibitors used 67,250 net square feet of exhibit space to display the latest equipment, technologies, products and services.

The show also featured the APA's Asphalt Pavement Conference 2007 with the theme "HMA Construction - Moving Forward." Over two days, 22 industry speakers spoke about the current and future construction practices that affect the quality, performance and cost effectiveness of HMA pavements. Over 360 show attendees registered for the conference.

And AI's booth was a buzz at the show as it highlighted new manuals MS-25 Asphalt Binder Testing and MS-24 Moisture Sensitivity. AI also featured its "Hooked on Asphalt" virtual fishing tournament game. The tournament winner at the show was Randy Herrera of Paving Products, Inc. in Fairbanks, Alaska. Herrera won a limited edition, leather Hooked on Asphalt jacket.
