Shot Peening Workshop to be Held in Montreal, Canada - May 6 and 7, 2008

Mishawaka, Indiana - (February 14, 2008) - Electronics Inc. (EI) is conducting a Shot Peening and Blast Cleaning Workshop in Montreal, Canada, May 6 and 7, 2008. The event will be held at the InterContinental Montreal. The workshop will feature Advanced Shot Peening courses for shot peening professionals that are ready for more advanced topics. The workshop will also cover all aspects of the shot peening and blast cleaning processes including the proper shot peening procedures as required by applicable specifications; the products (air and wheel machines, nozzles, media, and job shop services); how to control the process through media, intensity, coverage and equipment; how to plot a saturation curve to determine intensity; how to establish proper machine parameters to ensure correct stress profiles and fatigue life; proper paperwork procedures and record keeping; how to pass an audit (including Nadcap audits); how to spot a machine malfunction and machine maintenance. The workshop courses are recognized by the FAA. Mechanics qualified under FAA rules to perform inspections may receive credit for obtaining workshop Certificates of Achievement.

Anyone who works in the shot peening and blast cleaning industry can benefit from this comprehensive workshop, including, but not limited to product design managers, omachine operators, foremen, supervisors, service managers, metallurgists, engineers, maintenance and quality control engineers and those who have received shot peening and blast cleaning processes as part of new job responsibilities.

The cost of the workshop is $600 USD per person and includes workbook, break refreshments and lunch. Group discounts are available and the hotel is providing discounted room rates for attendees.

All attendees will be invited to a tour at Bombardier of the Challenger's final assembly line. The tour will be conducted May 6th after classes and is sponsored by Shockform, Inc.

Electronics Inc. will also offer Level I, II and III Shot Peening and Flapper Peening Exams for qualified students on May 7 for a fee of $100.00 each.

About Shot Peening

Shot peening is a cold-working process in which the material surface is peened to induce compressive stresses and thereby improve fatigue life. Shot peening is used in aerospace, automotive, mining, medical and other industries that need to improve the fatigue properties of metal components.
