Shinano Kenshi Corporation Announces Merger with Plextor Corp
Los Angeles, Calif.  September 8, 2006  Shinano Kenshi Corporation (SKC-U.S), a leading Los Angeles, CA-based manufacturer of electronic motors for the automotive, medical, office, and computer peripheral markets, has announced a merger and financial partnership with Plextor® Corp., a leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance digital media equipment.
Effective September 1, 2006, Plextor Corporation will operate under a new corporate identity Plextor LLC, a partner and merged entity of Shinano Kenshi Corporation-U.S. Plextor will continue to operate under its current structure and will remain located in Fremont, California.
The formation of Plextor LLC and the assimilation of that company into the SKC (U.S.) family opens up new business and commercial opportunities, including the ability to achieve greater synergy with Plextor LLC's organization in the future, said Rex Bergsma, President, Shinano Kenshi Corporation (U.S.).
