Server Technology Launches over 289 New Data Center Power Distribution Products to Date This Year; 69 New Products Launched Since July

Customer requirements drive data center power innovation; unique Quality Power Architecture (QPA) allows for production-level customization abilities and unprecedented on-time delivery

RENO, Nev. - Server Technology, experts in producing the highest quality rack mount power distribution units and power monitoring solutions, announced today the launch of 69 new customer-inspired cabinet power distribution units (PDUs), bringing the total new products released in 2011 to over 289, reflecting the strong demand for unique custom data center power products using our innovative QPA technology at the server rack level.

"There's a lot of talk about standardization in data centers today, but we know from our day-to-day customer interaction that all data centers are not alike. Data center managers want situation specific solutions to solve their unique power and efficiency goals," said Brandon Ewing, president of Server Technology. "Customers know that we provide the deep power expertise, the highest product quality and reliability, the configuration flexibility and the fast turnaround that data center professionals need to react to their ever-changing environments. With this in mind, we created Server Tech's unique Quality Power Architecture, allowing us to quickly develop situation-specific devices with the same quality, reliability and production processes found in all of our products," said Ewing.

"Customers are installing more dense racks with limited space for PDUs and we've responded quickly with a number of higher voltage and higher amperage solutions for these dense environments," said Ewing. "We've also released a new wave of products featuring our in-demand Per Inlet Power Sensing (PIPS(TM)) technology, providing the world's most accurate power consumption measurement available for the data center. Customers know that there are traditionally several other places where you could measure power in a data center - at the Utility Meter, the UPS or the remote power panel (RPP) for example, but those measurements are much farther away from the actual loads and much less granular and accurate. The benefit of using our PIPS technology is that you are getting actionable data from within the rack itself from a point which is the next closest device to the IT gear," said Ewing. "We simply do a better job listening to our customers for guidance in our R&D efforts. With dense computing becoming commonplace these days, including high capacity chassis from Cisco, HP, IBM and others, Server Technology continues to deliver products that are intended for dense mission-critical application by design," added Ewing.

"The quality, reliability and performance of these products allow us to get to market earlier because we can increase our productivity," said Dan Brown, Engineering Technician for Intel's Fort Collins Validation Center. "We're able to decrease the length of the test period to get the same amount of data because of these products," added Brown. Intel uses Server Technology's Switched PDUs to cycle power remotely in its 24/7 lab for chip level testing of new processors.
