Sentillion Named 'Cool Vendor' by Leading Analyst Firm

Packaged Virtualized Desktop Solution, vThere, Enables PC Users to Perform Their Jobs With Ease, Flexibility and Mobility

ANDOVER, Mass., March 20 -- Sentillion, Inc., with its packaged desktop virtualization solution, vThere, has been included in the list of "Cool Vendors" in the "Cool Vendors in PC Technologies" report by Gartner, Inc. written by Brian Gammage, et al., March 7, 2007. The five vendors listed in the report provide products "that enable PC users to perform their jobs with ease, flexibility and mobility."

According to the March 2007 report, "New innovations in virtualization will continue to advance capabilities to provide managed environments on 'hostile' PCs." vThere is a packaged virtualized desktop solution that leverages virtualization technology to create a corporate managed secure end- point that runs on any contemporary Microsoft® Windows®-based workstation. End-points at remote locations, such as a virtual call center agent's or teleworker's home office, are secured and controlled by creating corporate virtual computers, which run on, but are isolated from, the underlying unmanaged PC. In contrast to server-based virtual desktop solutions, vThere does not require any additional servers because the virtualized desktop executes on the host PC.

Remote workers, including teleworkers, virtual call center employees, contractors, business partners, or temporarily displaced employees, require access to corporate applications and data in order to be productive. This presents serious technology and security challenges because the IT department has the added responsibility of deploying and managing remote desktops, while also trying to navigate the complex security challenges associated with remote access into the enterprise. vThere is designed to help organizations overcome these challenges in a simple, cost-effective and secure manner. For example, vthere.net/, a web service hosted by Sentillion, enables the centralized distribution of vThere virtual computers and also provides for the centralized revocation of vThere virtual computers from people who are no longer authorized to use them.

"We believe the Gartner report mirrors what we have been seeing in the market -- that packaged desktop virtualization can deliver immediate ROI and help organizations in all industries over come the challenges associated with traditional remote access solutions," said Paul Roscoe, president, Sentillion vBusiness. "vThere provides remote users with the same operating system, application access, user experience and security as if they were physically within the enterprise."

Recently, vThere has also received other industry recognition, including most notably being awarded RSA Secured® certification with RSA SecurID® and being named Best of Show for software innovation at the 2006 CompTIA SMB Summit.
