Sensata Technologies' First Year - Sees Growth and New Innovation in Sensor Market

Acquisitions and increased investment in R&D lead to new products being demonstrated at Sensors Expo 2007

Attleboro, Ma. (June 11, 2007) - A year after its 2006 debut at Sensors Expo, Sensata Technologies (www.sensata.com) heads back to this year's event June 11-13 to showcase its expansion into new markets with the acquisition of two companies and an increased focus on research and development.

Sensata's December 2006 acquisition of Honeywell's First Technology Automotive and Special Products (FTAS) business, and its March 2007 acquisition of SMaL Camera Technologies from Cypress Semiconductor, saw the company's expansion beyond its pressure and temperature expertise and into optical, magnetic position and moisture sensors as well as image and light sensing.

Employing a combination of Cypress' vision technology, FTAS' light sensor experience and advancements from Sensata's R&D group, the company has developed an array of new sensor products for the automotive, industrial and HVAC/R industries including:

o ACM100 automotive qualified CMOS camera module that produces images in both visible and near-IR wavelengths for new lane departure and collision avoidance systems

o Humidity and air classification sensors for the automotive market that let consumers control the quality of their cabin environment, and provides new anti-fogging capability for safety.

o 2CH series of hermetic, case-isolated pressure sensors for the HVAC/R market are ideal for electrically challenging environments such as inverter driven compressors and advanced HVAC/R systems.

o 70CP series of pressure sensors for the agricultural equipment industry designed for harsh environments such as fuel injector systems, advanced engine and equipment control systems, as well as sprayers and irrigation equipment.

"The past year has been one not only of expansion of strategic direction, but also of huge growth for Sensata," said Timothy O'Brien, market communications manager for Sensata Technologies. "With the acquisition of two new companies and a renewed focus on R&D, we continue to explore new markets and develop innovative sensor products that are improving the safety, comfort and efficiency of hundreds of products across an array of industries."

Sensata Technologies' pressure sensors come in a wide range of fittings, packaging materials, pressure ratings and electrical inputs/outputs. The company will be exhibiting, along with Sensing Measurement and Controls, and available for comment during Sensors Expo 2007 in Rosemont, Ill., June 11-13, at booth #315.
