Selco Named Among Top Six in the 2015 Northern Nevada Best Places to Work Program
Reno, NV – Selco Products, a manufacturer and supplier of temperature control products, was named among the top six competing companies in the 2015 Northern Nevada Best Places to Work Program in the Medium Size category.
Founded in 1958, Selco Products is an ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturer and supplier of temperature control products used in a wide variety of markets from commercial food equipment and appliances to medical equipment and process controls. The company moved from Anaheim, California to Reno, Nevada in 2009 and currently employs 56 people (plus three employees located outside Reno) in positions that include customer service, engineering, product management, manufacturing and shipping. The manufacturing department operates a wide range of equipment in order to provide fully customized components to the company’s OEM and manufacturing customer base.

The Northern Nevada Best Places to Work initiative was created in 2008 to honor organizations who deliver an outstanding work experience. The program is sponsored by the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association, partnered with the Carson City Chamber of Commerce, Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce, Nevada Association of Employers, KTVN Channel 2, and Microsoft.

In addition to honoring companies that provide an outstanding work experience, other goals of the Best Places to Work program are: to share best practices of companies that have created positive work environments, to promote the Northern Nevada region and to provide valuable feedback to companies that helps measure levels of employee satisfaction and engagement.
The Best Places to Work winners are determined exclusively on the basis of their employees’ responses to the Employee Engagement Survey. Employee responses from 37 standard questions, along with the number of employees that respond to the survey, are calculated to determine the company’s overall score and ranking. There is no charge to participate in the program.
