Seafood Processor / Wholesaler Uses SIMBA Software to Track Multiple Types of Seafood and Shellfish Resulting in Improved Productivity and Traceability

Dynamic Systems, Inc., a Redmond, Washington software developer specializing in Seafood Tracking Solutions has announced a new application for Tracking Shellfish resulting in improved labeling of seafood, traceability and reduced transportation costs.

SIMBA Seafood Labeling and Traceability Software is specifically designed to manage the “deconstruction” process (one item broken down to many) that characterizes the fresh food industry. The plant workers like how easy SIMBA is to use, plant managers appreciate the immediate information it provides them, and owners enjoy higher profitability through greater control over inventory and yields.

The components of a SIMBA system include automated data collection points that report product details and moves, and the reporting system that provides detailed information for management. SIMBA Office is the heart of SIMBA, where all data is consolidated and reported. The main data input for SIMBA happens through SIMBA Production, which can be on a touch computer directly connected to the Office system or on a mobile tablet. SIMBA Logistics records inventory moves, handles palletizing and records detailed shipping information.

SIMBA allows uses to start with the basic system and upgrade as their business dictates. There are 3 modules available and include: SIMBA Basic, SIMBA Professional, and SIMBA Enterprise

About Flurer Smokery Ltd: Flurer has been using SIMBA to enter custom work orders and track and label Smoked Salmon. As their business grew they began processing mussels, port caught seafood and seafood grown by third-party Aquaculture companies with SIMBA. “Since SIMBA is highly configurable it was a breeze to set up the system to track multiple products” states Kelly Flurer, owner.

Results Key results from implementing the SIMBA software include increased production speed; the ability to get same day, accurate production reports; ability to fulfill traceability requirements; accurate inventory; professional looking carton and pallet labels; and expedited van loading.
